- When Ole and Bertha arrived in Chicago she went to keep house for a Halsted Terresen, whom she married a year later. Celia (Mrs. Hector Weeks) was their only child.
Bertha was a widow for some time before she married Emil E. Fischer, a veterinary surgeon.
Bertha moved to the city when her daughters were young and the girls all married into the printing trades. A.B. Collins worked for the Consolidated Paper Company at Wisconsin Rapids, WI at the time of his death. Jerry Eldridge worked for the W.B. Conkey Printing and Publishing House at Hammond, IN for over forty years and Eugene Clark was a printer and publisher. [2]
