  Notes	In the Norway census of 1865, Christoffer Arnessen, born 1849, was unmarried and living with his mother, Gunild Eilifsdatter, as a lodger at a farm/house named Berget in Lom Parish. Christoffer was working as a Skrædderdreng [tailor? or tailor's hired man/assistant?]. In 1869, the year Kristoffer the younger emigrated, there was a Christoffer Arnesen (age 18, born in Lom) listed as a passenger on a ship named Lyna, which sailed from Bergen to Quebec. The farm he was listed as having come from was named Okrust [Aukrust]. In the 1880 census of Norwegians in Wisconsin, Christopher Arneson, age 31, his wife Gunnild M. Arneson, age 30, and their children Julia Mathilda, age 2, and Arne T., age one month, were living at Springdale, Dane County, Wisconsin. Also living at Springdale was Christoffer's mother listed under the last name of her second husband, Gunnild Spaanum, age 73, widow. Christ later bought a farm on Blue Ridge, north of Barneveld, WI. They moved there from Springdale, east of Mt. Horeb, WI. We know Christ had land north of Barneveld, WI by 1875 as the log cabin was moved to the bottom of the hill that year. Christ met and married Julia Sponem from Springdale and became the father of seven children, the first two of whom were born in Springdale Twp. [5]
