Notes |
- Gottfried moved from North Dakota much earlier than his other brothers and sisters and settled at Golden Prairie, SK (north east of Medicine Hat, AB). When called to his Mother's funeral during the 1918 flu, Gottfried and Mary also became victims of the plague.
Their children Emma and Lydia were both raised by family - Emma by Gus and Lydia Bich and Lydia by her mother's family.
The pixel website has Gottfried, wife Mary and mother Louisa all buried in the Golden Prairie vicinity of Saskatchewan. As per Elsie (Lobe) Koop, this is incorrect, as she and Emma Dyck visited the unmarked graves in ND and took a photo of Louisa's grave, which I have a copy of.
