His mother did not want Victor as the first name so she just always assumed his name to be Robert John Sauers on any document thereafter. On Sept 23, 1941 Carl signed a legal document to change Victor Kwosneiwski, aka Victor Kwasneiwski, aka Robert John Kwasniewski to Robert John Sauers.
