Jennet Cragg tapestry

A photo of a tapestry held in Kendal of Jennet Cragg on her epic journey to London to rescue her two grandsons. It was done by one of her descendants, Judith (Kelsall) Mawer.
Scanned photo provided by Denise Browning

John Davnall writes:

Greetings from north Manchester.

I write as a descendant of Jennett by her son Timothy Cragg. In your information about Jennett you have an image of a tapestry whose subject was Jennett's remarkable journey to and from London to recover her orphaned grandchildren. Along with a small photograph of the tapestry there is a statement that it is (was?) on display in Kendal.

On Wednesday, my sister and I visited the display of Quaker tapestries associated with the Quaker Museum in Kendal so I now know that "Jennett's" tapestry is not there.

Brenda notes: I also have an email from another person stating the tapestry was hanging in the Keswick museum. So perhaps there, if not in Kendal…
