Edward "Ned" and Celena (Bartley) Wildman

Obituary - Mrs. Edward Wildman

After an illness of six moths, Edith Celina Bartley, beloved wife of Edward Wildman, passed away at the home of her daughter at Baysville, Ontario, in her 65th year on Sunday, April 16th, 1944. The funeral took place to Baysville Cemetery, Thursday, April 20th, 1944, services being conducted by Rev. Fr. Morley.

The late Edith Celina Bartley was born in Cartwright Township in 1879, a daughter of the late William Bartley and Mary Ann Dinsmore, she married Edward Wildman in 1900. For some years they lived in Toronto, but ten months ago Mrs. Wildman went to Baysville to live with her daughter.

Left to mourn her death are her husband and three sons, Clarence in Alberta, William on the Great Lakes and Walter of Reach Township, and three daughters, (Grace) Mrs. Stanley Lockwood, Baysville, (Gladys) Mrs. Alfred Westwood, Uxbridge and (Violet) Mrs. James Swinson, Uxbridge. Two brothers, Thomas of Uxbridge Township and Howard of Reach Township and three sisters, Mrs. Jennis, Toronto, Mrs. William Henry, Blackstock and Mrs. McClennan, Newcastle and twelve grandchildren.

Obituary - Sept 13, 1962

The death occurred Thursday Sept 13 at Fairview Lodge, Whitby Ont. following a short illness, of Edward Wildman. He was in his 87th year. A son of the late William and Jennet Jane Wildman, he was born in Reach Twp. He married the former Edith Celina Bartley in Reach Twp in 1900.

He farmed in the Port Perry RR#1 area until he retired 12 years ago and became a resident of Fairview lodge.

He was an adherent of the Port Perry Baptist Church. Predeceased by his wife, the former Edith C. Bartley, Mr Wildman is survived by three sons, Clarence, Craigmyle, Alberta; William, Port Arthur; and Walter, Woodbridge; three daughters, Mrs S. Lockwood ( Grace), Baysville; Mrs A. Westwood (Gladys), Uxbridge; and Mrs J. Swinson ( Violet), Brooklin. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The remains are at the W.C. Town Funeral Homne, Whitby. The funeral service will be held in the chapel conducted by Rev. A.M. Butler, rector of St. Marks United Church, Whitby, Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Greenbank, Ontario
