Obituary for Effie:

Funeral service for Mrs. Effie Lee Wildman, 64, one of the early settlers of the Midnight Lake district, was held March 27 in Bissell Memorial Church at Glaslyn with the Rev. T. Titley, Meadow Lake, officiating.

Mrs. Wildman died suddenly on March 20 following a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Wildman emigrated from Oklahoma to Saskatchewan in 1914 and settled on a homestead in the Midnight Lake district where they farmed for many years before moving to Glaslyn where they operated a general store. They later sold this business and returned to Midnight Lake.

Mrs. Wildman was an active member of Bissell Memorial United Church and its Ladies' Aid. She is survived by her three sons, Clement, Midnight Lake; Chester, Seattle, Wash.; and Kenneth, Shelton, Wash.; two brothers, Walter and Lonnie Allen, Stoney Plain, Alta.; and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Walker, Vancouver.

Lake Tragedies Mar Outings
A two-day outbreak of drownings took the lives of at least three persons and possibly accounted for a fourth victim this weekend.

Two persons drowned Saturday and a Sunday cruise on Great Salt Plains lake near Cherokee ended with one fatality. Alfalfa county deputy sheriff Hoot Gibson reported Mrs. Faye Houston, Enid, drowned when a boat in which she was riding capsized.

Gibson said three others persons, including the victim's husband, Walter Houston, escaped. He said the group was riding in a 12-foot craft powered by an outboard motor. The lake was choppy, he said. County officers were searching for her body late Sunday.

Earlier Sunday an Oklahoma City man died while laying a fishing line in a farm lake east of the city. A companion, H. F. Sinker, said George Wildman, 73, [sic] of 827 NW 9, may have drowned. He said the victim suddenly went under after he apparently stepped in a hole.

A coroner investigating the accident said death may have been caused by a heart attack. A pulmotor squad said there was little evidence of water in the lungs.

The body of John Lee Bailey, of Temple, was found Saturday night in the Temple City lake. It is believed that he fell into the lake from a pier Friday night.

Ray Dodson, 16, of Henryetta was the second Saturday drowning victim. His body was discovered in a strip mine pit where he had gone swimming earlier.

Obituary for George:

George R. Wildman, 71, early Oklahoma resident and later a longtime Canadian farmer and groceryman, died Sunday while fishing at an Oklahoma City farm lake. Services are pending at Garrison funeral home.

Wildman, of 827, NW 9, who moved to Dewey country from Kansas, with his parents in 1893, took a homestead in Canada in 1914. He lived there until 1954 when he moved to Oklahoma City. While in Canada, Wildman farmed and owned and operated a grocery store.

He is survived by his [second] wife Maudie, of the home; three sons, Kenneth, Toledo, OR; Chester, Seattle, WA; and Clement of Canada; his mother, Mrs. Edith Wildman, and a sister, Mrs. Clara Fields, both of Vici; five brothers: Ted, Portland OR; Milford, Coeur d'Alene. ID; Arthur, 616 NW 6; Norman, of Vici; and Charles, of Sharon, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
