Obituary - Kulm Messenger

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Herbert (Alma) Beich on Monday, May 26, 1980, at First Congregational Church with Rev. Jack Roth officiating. Mrs. Beich died at the age of 61 on May 21, 1980, at the Health Care Center in Murfreesboro, TN.

Alma Beich was born Sept 13, 1918, at Ashley, ND, to Daniel and Johanna (Woeszner) Patzer. As a small girl Alma grew up on her parents farm south of Kulm. She attended school in Kulm and later enrolled at MacPhail School of Music in Minneapolis, MN. On Sep 9, 1938 she joined in marriage to Herbert Biech (spelling as occurs in obituary) at Eureka, SD. They made their home in the Kulm area. Alma served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Chrust, as church organist. She was the first organist when the present church was constructed and faithfully played in the various meetings when necessary as well as choir ministry. She used her talents God had given her until physical health waned. Upon this interruption, the Beichs moved to Murfreesboro, TN, to be near their children. Upon the need, her son Larry and daughter Melody served in faithful care and love to their ailing parents. A very Biblical practice indeed.

Mrs. Beich is survived by her husband, Herbert, her parents Daniel and Johanna Patzer of Kulm, two children Larry Beich and Mrs. Eual (Melody) Owen both of Murfreesboro, TN.

Palbearers were Edwin Neu, Herbert Neu, Clarence Roth, Francis Steele, Reuben Winter and Monroe Raugust. Burial was at the First Congretational Cemetery, Kulm, ND.
