MAN DIED RESULT OF AUTO ACCIDENT __ To Hold Inquest Into Death Of Ernest Daniel Ward

As a result of serious injuries sustained when struck down by a car on Dundas Street, Whitby, (Ontario), on Saturday night. Ernest Daniel Ward of Toronto, formerly of Greenbank, died Tuesday in the Oshawa General Hospital. He did not regain consciousness. Dr. G. L. MacDougall of Whitby, who attended the injured man, stated that there was no sign of consciousness after the accident and that the condition became deeper until his death.

Deceased was the son of Mrs. Annie Ward of Toronto and the late Walter Ward of Greenbank and was employed at the D. I. L. plant at Ajax. He was in his 47th year and was unmarried The deceased had stepped from the curb in front of the Red Cap Restaurant into the path of a car driven by Clarence Thorndyke of Whitby ----- to police, when he was struck and sustained a fractured skull.

The deceased was a nephew of James Ward of Whitby. His mother and two sisters live in Toronto. Another sister lives in Bobgaygeon, while two other brothers, one at Port Credit, another in Sicily, also survive. Another brother was killed in the last war. Crown Attorney Annis announced this morning that an inquest will be held at Whitby with Coroner Dr. R. T. MacClaren presiding. The date has not been set.
